His company supports the fire safety brigades of municipalities and industries down to the smallest detail, whether for the sale, maintenance and repair of equipment, inspections, calibration or even training to help the teams. to deal with fires, toxic gases or enclosed spaces.
StipFire is even equipped with a fleet of emergency vehicles that go directly to fire sites, in certain municipalities served, regardless of the time or day of the week. The teams recharge the air cylinders to supply the cylinders of the firefighters who have to go inside.

This is quite a change for the man who was manager of the buildings department of the City of Trois-Rivières. He saw his schedule completely changed as he embarked on a new career that often required him to work evenings, weekends, and sometimes even nights.
A transition that was not too difficult to make for someone who knows the ropes of the profession, having been a firefighter since 2001, first in Trois-Rivières, then in Saint-Étienne-des-Grès, where he now holds the position Director of the Régie des services de Sécurité Régroupees de Sécurité Régroupés de la MRC de Maskinongé (RSSIR).
A project on the table
Owner for a little over two years, Dave Carrier is already planning to expand his business which is cramped in his store located on Boulevard des Récollets.
“The growth is there. We are developing more and more customers and there is a loyal clientele who stays with us,” assures the owner who had already planned a possible expansion when he acquired the business.
He had in fact purchased land on Charbonneau Street to be able to move his business there into a new construction which is planned, in the best of all possible worlds, by next spring.
The project which is on the drawing board should allow it to practically triple its surface area. A building in which he will be able to continue to sell in a commercial space, but above all to have a larger workshop to carry out repairs.
“We will be able to offer more services all year round, because there are certain things that we cannot do in the winter because of the water and the cold. We are not big enough to do it inside, whereas in the new construction we will be able to do all our things inside,” explains Dave Carrier.
Lead by example
Firefighter and fire department director, Dave Carrier describes himself above all as “a hands-on guy”. “I have training in industrial mechanics and fire safety. “It allows me to be logical on the ground, to understand reality and adapt quickly to situations,” he believes.
At the head of a team of five permanent employees, four part-time firefighters and a few on-call employees, he believes that above all he must lead by example.
“Obviously I can’t ask someone for something if I don’t do it myself. So I try to lead by example and work as a team a lot,” he explains.
