The end of the real estate bubble? The average price per square meter for sale fell by 2.9% between the second quarter of 2024 and the second quarter of 2023, the Immotop advertising site reported on Tuesday, reaching 8,670 euros per square meter.

In detail, the southern region recorded the most significant decrease in one year, namely 5.3%. The eastern (-2.9%), central (-1.4%) and western (-0.8%) regions experienced more moderate decreases. Only the northern region showed an increase (+1.4%) in the average price per m² for sale.

It should be noted that it is in the central region that the average price per square meter for sale is the highest. In the second quarter of 2024, it amounted to more than 11,000 euros.

In the capital, the average price per square meter of housing for sale even reaches 12,641 euros (-2.7% compared to the first quarter of 2024). In detail, the Belair district is still the most expensive. To buy a home there, you will have to pay 14,828 euros/m² (-1.5% compared to the first quarter of 2024). That is a good million euros for 69 m².
