The Emir of Qatar and his wife will be on an official visit to the United Kingdom on December 3 and 4. For the occasion, Kate Middleton confirmed her presence to welcome the Qatari couple in London. The first state visit since finishing his chemotherapy.
A gradual return to normal. After confirming that she would organize the traditional Christmas concert for which she has been responsible for several years, Kate Middleton will take part in her first state visit since her return to work and the end of her chemotherapy announced at the beginning of September 2024.
While the Emir of Qatar will visit on December 3 and 4 with his wife, Buckingham Palace confirmed this Monday, November 25 that Kate Middleton and Prince William “will welcome the Emir and Sheika Jawaher at their residence, in the name of the king, Tuesday morning. The Prince and Princess of Wales will then join King Charles III and Queen Camilla in a ceremony at Horse Guards Parade, where the Sovereign will officially welcome the Qatari couple to British soil.

“She is clearly a vital part of the royal family, really important both symbolically and in reality as a future queen,” royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith told People “We can’t say she’s back… But she’s coming back.”
No royal banquet
But everything will not (yet) really be the same as before. While state visits traditionally end with a sumptuous banquet featuring tiaras and beautiful dresses, the palace has already confirmed that the Princess of Wales will not attend this year.
However, this is one more step for Kate Middleton in resuming her duties. She had not participated in a state visit since the announcement of her cancer in March 2024, the last visit dating back to almost a year ago exactly, during the trip of the president and the first lady of South Korea.
The princess then participated in the welcoming ceremony and the traditional banquet at Buckingham Palace, wearing a tiara belonging to the late Queen Mother, which had not been worn for more than 100 years.
