News from the second constituency of Haute-Corse:
– “I know I could have gone all the way”, Sylvie Jouart-Fernandez disappointed by her withdrawal
She admits that her first reaction was disappointment. When she learned, on the afternoon of Monday, July 1, that she would not participate in the second round of these early legislative elections, Sylvie Jouart-Fernandez bowed to the decision of the national authorities of National Rally (RN) : “This decision does not come from me but I respect it.”
Of “the great pride” to have collected 11,275 votes (25.42%)well beyond what she had hoped for, until the disappointment of seeing her candidacy withdrawn, in less than 24 hours, the candidate of the National Rally in the second constituency of Haute-Corse found herself embarked on a real emotional roller coaster.
“I know I could have gone all the way but it wasn’t decided that way. I am all the more disappointed that I had a sincere commitment to the Corse and the Corsicans and I think my score in the first round shows that I spoke the same language as them”she breathes.
A complicated threesome
Party logic has taken over. “With this triangular, and given the result, we found ourselves in a complicated scenario, quite identical to that of 2022, with the same duel between François-Xavier Ceccoli et Jean-Felix Acquaviva“confides Sylvie Jouart-Fernandez.
What about his political future? “Only time will tell”. Although she intends to remain a member of the National Rally, it is impossible to know whether she will once again be a leading figure in the party in future elections.
