Samsung is preparing to roll out One UI 7, a major update to its interface, based on Android 15 and eagerly awaited by users. If the public beta was initially planned for November, it should ultimately begin in December, with a stable version expected for February 2025.
This new operating system will be available on recent devices like the Galaxy S24, but also on more affordable models like the Galaxy A series and Galaxy Tab tablets. A video is circulating on X/Twitteroffering a preview of this slightly revamped interface.

One UI 7 would mark a turning point for the South Korean company, which has often been criticized for the relative rigidity of its animations compared to those of iOS. According to the video leaked on social networks, the new interface should improve the fluidity of transitions, making opening and closing apps more natural and dynamic.
A very inspired design
One of the big new features is the quick panel, divided into separate sections. At the top, two clearly visible buttons control wifi and Bluetooth, while other options like airplane mode and flashlight are grouped into icons in a rounded rectangle. Inspired by iOS, this customizable bubble design suggests a less cluttered and more functional interface.
Beyond animations, Samsung would borrow other ideas from iOS, according to the site SamMobile : interactive widgets on the lock screen, an alternative to Apple's Dynamic Island, and rounded icons with a 3D design. The Camera app, for its part, would see its controls moved to the bottom of the screen for more intuitive use. Despite these similarities, One UI 7 would retain its own identity, notably allowing more extensive customization than that of iOS.
Samsung is not the only manufacturer to be influenced by the Cupertino company. Brands like Oppo, with ColorOS, or Honor with MagicOS are following a similar trend by seeking to balance visual simplicity and customization. However, Samsung intends to maintain the uniqueness of One UI, while meeting the expectations of its loyalists.
The beta version will likely be available from December, followed by a stable version in February 2024, probably at the same time as the launch of the Galaxy S25. This wait should allow Samsung to offer an optimized experience, while avoiding the dysfunctions recently encountered by its competitors.
