UPDATE. Monday November 25, 2024 at 4:27 p.m.: the fire is contained. Firefighters will monitor the site “probably until tomorrow”, according to the Rhône prefecture. Three companies are particularly affected and more than 5,400 m2 of the 12,000 in the warehouse were impacted by the fire.

A major fire broke out shortly before 2 p.m. in a Anse commercial area (Rhône), north of Lyon, this Monday, November 25, 2024.

A large warehouse with several commercial cells is affected by the flames and large resources are currently deployed by the firefighters. On the A6 motorway, many photos of the thick black smoke spreading were taken by motorists.

At least 2,000m2 of buildings already destroyed

According to our colleagues at Radio Scopeat least 2,000 m2 buildings have already been destroyed. Nearly 90 firefighters are on site, with around thirty engines. No injuries have been reported at the moment, indicates the Rhône prefecture.
