The Bayern/PSG clash this Tuesday evening in the Champions League will start from 9 p.m. and will be broadcast as usual on a Canal group channel, but not on Canal+.
At a time of the battle for TV rights, the Canal group preferred to invest massively in the European Cups rather than in Ligue 1. Canal + thus acquired the TV rights for the Champions League, the Europa League and the Conference League for the next three years, which pushed the encrypted channel to open several channels in order to broadcast all these European matches.
Since the start of the season, PSG has been broadcast alternately in the Champions League on Canal+ or Canal+ Foot depending on the day of the match. Canal+ Foot thus broadcasts the PSG match when it plays on Tuesday and Canal+ the PSG match when it plays on Wednesday. So you will have understood, the Bayern/PSG match this Tuesday will therefore be broadcast on Canal+ Foot and not Canal+.
What does this change? Quite a few things actually, already for the audience. Generally, audiences are better on Canal+ since all Canal subscribers have access to the Canal+ channel, which is not the case for Canal+ Foot. The Canal+ Foot channel is in fact only reserved for subscribers to the Canal sports pack (from 34.99 euros per month) or to subscribers of the European Cup Pass (from 29.99 euros per month) .
Currently, Canal+ also offers a special offer for 40th birthdays from 40 euros per month (24-month subscription) with Canal+ Foot, Canal+ Sport, all Canal+ Live channels, but also BeIN Sports, Eurosport, Netflix (standard version ) or Max (standard version).
