While the anniversary of the death of Thomas Perotto as well as the recent death of Nicolas Dumas came to exacerbate and revive tensions between groups of opposing ideologies, the prefecture of the Drôme displays its firmness by banning the demonstrations planned in Romans-sur-Isère this weekend. “This recovery has been the subject of numerous leaflets, letters and public declarations for several weeks, raising fears of significant unrest and ideological clashes in Romans-sur-Isère, Bourg-de-Péage, Crépol and , on November 30,” state services note in a press release.

No gatherings or demonstrations

Thus, “gatherings linked to the commemoration of the death of Thomas Perotto or the recent death of Nicolas Dumas, as well as those in reaction to these gatherings on the grounds of the fight against racism, hatred, francocide, insecurity or still immigration, are prohibited from Saturday November 30, 2024, at 8 a.m., to Sunday December 1, at 8 p.m., in Valence, Romans-sur-Isère, Bourg-de-Péage and Crépol”, details the prefecture.

Likewise, the demonstrations declared by the collective “Justice for ours”, the collective for Romans and the ASTI Romans, as well as by the CNT, on November 30, in Romans-sur-Isère, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. are prohibited.

An ultra-right collective is mobilizing
