Prosper Brilhaut had been battling illness for several years. He died on Saturday November 16, 2024 at the age of 88.

After a career in teaching as head of school and director of Sainte-Marie college in Dinard, he settled with his family in Saint-Jouan-des-Guérets in the 1990s.

A “thoughtful and invested” man

Very involved in community and social life, Prosper Brilhaut was not a man to count his time. Those who worked with him in the course of his duties describe a man who was “thoughtful and invested, always listening to people and providing wise advice”.

He had joined the management body of the Sainte-Anne school; he was also a member of the Municipal Social Action Center since 2008 and was involved in the Saint-Jouan Espérance association. Finally, he had joined the ranks of Cyberspace.

“He became the computer troubleshooter”

“Whether it was changing a window pane at school or carrying out computer maintenance, Prosper Brilhaut was always very available. Over time, he became the computer troubleshooter for the priests in the area,” says Luc Couapel, former mayor of the town and also head of a school. “And it ended up being known!” Many people from Jouannais have called upon his advanced knowledge of IT.
