An 84-year-old woman was seriously burned after the explosion of a gas cylinder in Audruicq (Pas-de-Calais), Sunday June 30, 2024 around 6 p.m. The victim, who lives in a farmhouse, was heating a pot of milk when the incident occurred, reports Nord Littoral .
The victim hospitalized
According to the octogenarian’s son, neighbors rushed to help his mother, who was seriously injured and particularly shocked. The victim, who suffered first and second degree burns to her lower limbs, was taken care of by firefighters, who took her to hospital.
It took firefighters an hour to put out the flames, which destroyed the roof. The significant resources deployed made it possible to contain the fire before it reached the rest of the property.
