The Laval Rocket will hold its sixth Throwing the Dog themed match on December 7 at Place Bell.
For the occasion, fans are invited to throw as many stuffed animals as possible onto the ice during the first goal scored by the Rocket.
These doggies will then be picked up by the organization and the Laval Police Department in order to give them to local organizations and initiatives working with families and children.
In total, 50 organizations and initiatives will benefit from this project in 2024.
“We are still very happy to collaborate […] in order to be able to distribute the doggies collected during the Throw the doggie match to thousands of children in need, notes Patrick Hum, sales and marketing director of the Rocket, in a press release. We are grateful for the involvement, year after year, of the Laval Police Department which contributes to the success of this cause which is dear to us.”
“The Toutou Throw is an event that is close to our police officers’ hearts,” adds the director of the Laval Police Department Pierre Brochet. […] We are once again counting on the great generosity of Laval Rocket fans to give these stuffed animals to thousands of children at the dawn of the holiday season.”
Since the first edition, nearly 35,000 stuffed animals have been donated to community organizations and initiatives in the region. (N.P.)
