Match: First trends for Bayern/PSG lineups

On the eve of the match counting for the 5th day of the Champions League championship phase, it is already possible to define the main trends concerning the Bayern/PSG team compositions. There are still some doubts, especially on the Parisian side.

We're almost there. This Tuesday evening, PSG challenges Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena (9 p.m.) in a very important match for the two teams, who respectively have only 6 points (for the Germans) and 4 points (for the Parisians) after four matches played in this new championship phase of the Champions League.

Four days after their 3-0 victory against in Ligue 1, PSG will present themselves in Bavaria with an almost complete squad then Nuno Mendes trained normally on Sunday and will be traveling to Germany after his little ankle problem. Gonçalo Ramos could make his comeback to the group, but it's hard to imagine him starting the match after more than three months of absence.

A doubt in the goals and in attack on the PSG side

Concerning the probable composition of PSG, a big doubt exists at the goalkeeper position between Gianluigi Donnarumma and Matvey Safonov, who started the last match against TFC. For the rest of the defense, however, not too many doubts. Achraf Hakimi will start on the right and Nuno Mendes should be aligned on the left, while Marquinhos and Willian Pacho will be back in the center.

In the middle, Warren Zaire-Emery will definitely be aligned as a right relay player with probably Vitinha in front of the defense and João Neves rather than Fabian Ruiz as a left relay player. Finally up front, there is uncertainty regarding the role that Ousmane Dembélé will occupy. Will he be aligned in a central position like in on October 27 or rather on the right wing with Lee or Asensio in false nine? The only certainty is that Bradley Barcola will start on the left.

A possible team composition for PSG against Bayern: Donnarumma or Safonov – Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes – Zaïre-Emery, Vitinha, Neves – Lee or Dembélé, Dembélé or Asensio, Barcola

As for Bayern Munich, who also won 3-0 on Friday against Augsburg thanks to a late hat-trick from Harry Kane (with two penalties), Vincent Kompany will be deprived of at least five players against PSG, or even six depending on the presence or absence of French striker Mathys Tel, affected with the Espoirs during the break and forfeited last weekend.

Uncertain weather against Augsburg, Manuel Neuer was able to hold his place and will start in the German goals this Tuesday. Bayern are playing 4-2-3-1 this season and the main question of the starting XI concerns the right-back position. Sacha Boey returned from injury last Friday, but will be too tight to start.

Laimer and Guerreiro in balance on the right side of Bayern

There will be a duel at this position between Austrian midfielder Konrad Laimer and Portuguese left back Raphaël Guerreiro. The German media Kicker is betting instead on Laimer, who replaced Guerreiro in the 76th minute last Friday. The central hinge will be made up of Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae with Alphonso Davies on the left.

In the absence of Aleksandar Pavlovic and João Palinha in the middle, Leon Goretzka should accompany Joshua Kimmich in the midfield while the attacking sector will normally be composed of Michael Olise on the right wing, Jamal Musiala in ten, Kingsley Coman on the left and Harry Kane at the forefront.

A possible team composition for Bayern against PSG: Neuer – Laimer ou Guerreiro, Upamecano, Kim, Davies – Kimmich, Goretzka – Olise, Musiala, Coman – Kane
