Following the death of Princess Lalla Latifa, mother of King Mohamed VI, the President of the National Council for the Safeguarding of the Homeland, Head of State, Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani, sent a message of condolences to King Mohamed VI. The message reads as follows:

« Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim

Inna Lillahi and Inna Ileyhi Rajiou’n

Your Majesty,

I learned with immense sadness the information relating to the reminder to God, on Saturday June 29, 2024, of your late mother, Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Latifa, may Allah cover her with his infinite mercy.

In this particularly painful circumstance of the loss of a loved one, I address, on behalf of the National Council for the Safeguarding of the Fatherland (CNSP), the Government, the people of Niger and my name, my most saddened condolences and my deep compassion to Your Majesty, to the honorable grieving Royal Family as well as to the bereaved Moroccan people.

I share, with the entire Nigerian people, your pain and assure you of our solidarity in this difficult ordeal.

I pray to Allah, Al Gafour, Ar Rahim, the Clement, the merciful to have mercy on Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Latifa and welcome her to her firdaws paradise.

While renewing my sincere condolences and deep compassion, I ask Your Majesty to accept the assurance of my highest and fraternal consideration. »
