L’Union Saint-Gilloise traveled to OHL this Sunday afternoon. After a very convincing victory against Genk before the break (4-0), the Union wanted to confirm this Sunday against the Louvanists.

Everything started very well for the Unionists as they took advantage of an autogoal from Schrijvers to open the scoring after 11 minutes of play. The Saint-Gillois then had the opportunities to take cover without managing to do so. TO DO.

As is often the case, it was ultimately the opposing team who took the opportunity to equalize. OHL won a penalty 4 minutes before the break after a mistake by Vanhoutte, Schrijvers made up for his mistake by equalizing.

The Saint-Gillois were then reduced to 10 to 20 minutes from time, after the exclusion of Vanhoutte. Outnumbered, they tried but never managed to regain the advantage. This split puts a further damper on Union, which is now 8th and sees Standard move ahead of it.

Highlights of the meeting:

The Union had the first very big chance of the match after 4 minutes of play. After a good combination with Ivanovic, David found himself face to face with Leysen. The Belgian goalkeeper made the first very big exit of the match to prevent the Saint-Gillois from opening the score.

7 minutes later, Ivanovic burst down the left flank before sending in a cross. The latter was clumsily picked up by Schrijvers who put the ball into the back of his own goal. The Union therefore opened the scoring.

5 minutes from the break, OHL obtained a penalty for a mistake by Vanhoutte. Schrijvers made up for his mistake by scoring the penalty, allowing the Louvanists to come back into the score.

20 minutes from time, Vanhoutte was sent off for a sole, dangerous although unintentional. The Union found itself outnumbered.
