European Waste Reduction Week (SERD) obliges, Lanvéoc welcomed, this Friday, November 22, 2024, in its hall, the stands of the community of communes Presqu'île de Crozon – Aulne maritime (CCPCAM) and the Aux association Tastes of the Day, among local producers.
Short circuits, water preservation and waste reduction
The CCPCAM sent three representatives on site to raise public awareness. First of all, they spoke of the importance of the relocation of agriculture and food in the “territories”, with financial support for the installation of farms, short circuits, local products and the promotion of vegetarianism in public communities (20% organic products in collective catering and one vegetarian menu per week in school canteens).
They also raised awareness about water management and the preservation of this resource, which justified the free distribution of a “water saving kit”, which can still be obtained from the CCPCAM. Finally, they addressed waste reduction. For Maiwenn, “the best waste is that which we do not produce, because we are taxed in proportion to the waste we produce. Hence the incentive tax.” They also promoted “reusable”.
Against food waste
For its part, the Aux Goûts du Jour association demonstrated the art of using leftovers in cooking. Alexandre Chapuis, from the Brest branch, made a pink hummus by adding leftover beetroot to his chickpeas. Her colleague Sabrina Della Roma highlighted local seafood in seaweed-based recipes. Both insisted on the need to eat well. “Especially among children, who are the most targeted by food marketing.”
