Saturday, November 16, seniors of the municipality aged over 65 were invited by the municipality and the CCAS for the traditional “elders” meal, at the Jean-Jaurès complex.
The mayor, Dominique Laurent, welcomed the 210 people and said a few words. He discussed the events and projects carried out since last year. A thought was dedicated to those who died during the year and to those absent due to health reasons.
The guests sat down at the table to taste the dishes prepared by the caterer, Jérôme Leseur from Fains-Véel. On the menu; sparkling blackberry aperitif; as a starter, verrine with smoked salmon and shrimp; for main course, confit veal chuck “blanquette” style, plate of Brie de Meaux; for dessert, warm apple pie and a scoop of ice cream. Everything was accompanied by white wine, red wine, champagne and coffee. The meal was very appreciated by the guests, happy to meet up and chat around a good table.
The afternoon was animated, as in the last two years, by the Mickaël Clément orchestra, from Bar-le-Duc, made up of four musicians and singers. There were many dancers on the floor, to the sound of the accordion, music from the 60s, 70s, 80s and French pop. The musicians created a joyful atmosphere.
Seniors wait every year for this day of reunion and celebration. The guests enjoyed this good meal and the orchestra. For those who were unable to attend the meal, a Christmas package will be delivered Friday, November 29 afternoon to the media library.
