The employee of a perfume, soap and candle manufacturing factory located in the Drôme in Saint-Auban-sur-l’Ouvèze was seriously injured in the second degree, Thursday June 27, 2024 in the morning. According to France Bleu Drôme Ardèche a short circuit caused a pump in an interior perfume maceration tank to catch fire.
Burned face
The gases escaping from the machine caught fire. The flames hit the victim in the face. As required by the safety process, the employee wore protective equipment which prevented her from more serious injuries. His eyes were not affected. Taken care of by firefighters, she was taken to hospital.
The flames were quickly brought under control thanks to the rapid intervention of other employees, who activated fire extinguishers. For safety reasons, the Le Chatelard 1802 company decided to have the electrical installation inspected. While waiting to learn more, maceration is temporarily suspended in the factory.
