The mayor of Vernet, François Balique, officially signed, this Friday, June 28, the death certificate of Émile Soleil, the little boy who disappeared on July 8, 2023, La Provence has learned. The signature, which had been requested by investigating judges, took place in the presence of the gendarmes. Three months ago, on March 30, the skull of the two-year-old child was discovered by a walker in a forest not far from the hamlet. After further research, the gendarmes found clothes and other bones belonging to him.
However, this signature does not yet allow the parents to recover the young boy’s bones. “ Analyzes are not completed “, Jean-Luc Blachon, the public prosecutor of Aix-en-Provence, told our colleagues. On July 8, 2023, Émile, then aged 2 and a half, had escaped the vigilance of his grandparents in Haut-Vernet and had disappeared. Despite extensive searches around this hamlet and in the commune of Le Vernet, it was not until March 30 that bones belonging to the child were discovered.
