François Balique, mayor of Le Vernet, officially signed Émile’s death certificate, three months after the discovery of the little boy’s bones.
The death certificate of Émile Soleil was officially signed this Friday, June 28 in the afternoon at the Vernet town hall, BFM DICI learned. It was the mayor, François Balique, who was responsible for signing the act in the presence of a gendarme.
It does not allow parents to recover the bones
Almost three months to the day after the discovery of the child’s bones, and ten days before the one-year anniversary of his disappearance, this document was signed by the city councilor at the request of the investigating judges.
This is a simple administrative act which does not allow the child’s parents to recover the little boy’s bones and clothes discovered during the last searches organized by the gendarmes.
On the investigation side, investigations are continuing and new ones are being carried out to try to explain the death of the little boy, who disappeared on July 8, 2023 in Haut-Vernet.
On Saturday, March 30, little Émile’s skull was found by a walker in a forest not far from the hamlet. A few days later, clothes and other bones were discovered.
