A salesman aged around thirty was killed by a gun while he was canvassing in a house in Chavelot (Vosges) on Wednesday November 20 late in the morning, we learned.AFP with the public prosecutor of Epinal.

The suspect, a septuagenarian identified as the shooter, was taken into custody for murder. The victim was canvassing in several houses on the same street in the city center of this small town of 1,300 inhabitants, explained Frédéric Nahon, confirming information from the daily Vosges Morning.

Several hunting weapons found at home

Late Wednesday morning, he appeared in front of a house inhabited by two brothers in their seventies. One of them, the youngest, fatally shot him while shooting him. The open murder investigation was entrusted to the Remiremont research brigade.

According to Vosges Morning, the victim is said to have gone to this address several times in recent days in order to approach its residents. Several hunting weapons were found at the defendant's home. The two brothers, nicknamed “The Daltons” were popular with the neighborhood, reports the local newspaper.
