It is noon and under the very cold wind that we call here the kiss or fair weather wind, the little trailer of Fabienne Colonna is installed between the cycle store and that of the Cave de Vouglans on the side of the road at the exit of Orgelet. Fabienne Colonna is in place and her hands are busy at the sewing machine.
Bouton d’or
Fabienne Colonna worked hard to acquire the dexterity of a good seamstress. She says thus: “ I learned my job out of passion for a good ten years, cutting and recutting the fabric, shouting, crying, repeating the gestures that one day became sure to make me the seamstress I wanted to be. I started with the markets to make myself known with a lot of work from home”.
While running the markets, she opens a workshop in Lons-le-Saunier for stage costume rentals and sewing lessons.
After parting with her entire collection, she moved to Orgelet and worked from her home. His workshop is called Bouton D’or.
Every Saturday, she goes to Viry-en-Genevois a few kilometers from Switzerland where under a barn she receives a loyal clientele. So he comes the idea of his traveling store-workshop.
Couture-truck
Many people think they will find a food truck, so Fabienne Colonna introduces herself as couture-truck and it’s a bit like this fast service that she works here.
Every Thursday customers parade. Laurence has just stopped by quickly to pick up the two jeans with sewn hems and assures that she will be back soon: “there is something to do and I don’t know how to do it! It’s really practical the presence of a seamstress. »
Stéphanie arrives: “hello, I’m stopping quickly on my way to work, I have a heated down jacket zipper to change”.
Fabienne Colonna assures that this will be achieved as quickly as possible. So here, we retouch, we sew and re-sew, we transform, we even customize. Every Thursday, she is there from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The art of sewing
Fabienne Colonna does not hide her passion for creation. This is how she resumed making, rental of stage costumes on demand and tailor-made with several formulas.
Right against the trailer, a model’s dress flutters in the wind, demonstrating the beautiful work of folds and lace of the seamstress who, to convey, regularly receives interns from Pasteur and Mont-Roland high schools in Dole.
She also trained in machine embroidery for personalize clothescustomize the jeans and “register” the cuddly toys.
