A fifty-year-old man with an amputated arm is accused of attempted murder and of stabbing one of his drinking companions in Nîmes, on July 3, 2022 in Nîmes. He will be tried by the Gard Assize Court from this Thursday, November 21.
Kamal was the victim of a stabbing, on the night of July 2 to 3, 2022 in Nîmes, square de la Couronne, during a meeting between lost people and against a backdrop of consumption of alcohol and cannabis. It was 1 a.m. when firefighters rescued the victim – a large man – and evacuated him to the Franciscan clinic. The attacker and his other drinking companions had apparently disappeared when the police intervened at the scene of this tragedy. Abdelkader, the man suspected of stabbing the victim, was arrested a year later in Troyes, in eastern France.
He denies intentionally hurting the victim
This fifty-year-old, amputated in one arm and disabled in the other arm, is accused of attempted murder. Abdelkader will appear, from this Thursday, November 21, before the Gard Assize Court. He will be defended by Marie-Blanche Tapiero-Sauvat and Charlène Neveu-Sanchez, two lawyers from the Avignon bar.
Abdelkader has around twenty convictions on his criminal record. He always denied having intentionally injured the victim, a large man who fell on him in the fight. His lawyer, Me Tapiero-Sauvat, regrets that these facts have not been reclassified and this file corrected. “This trial should never have gone before the Assize Court”laments the lawyer.
There was probably a dispute between Abdelkader and the victim who knew each other and met that evening, in the city center, in Nîmes.
Seriously injured in the chest
The victim, Kamal, was seriously injured in the chest. Civil party in this case, he will be represented by Me Marion Touzellier. Kamal, who lived in Orange (Vaucluse), apparently missed his train on the evening of this attack and met other friends at Square de la Couronne. He will be represented by Me Marion Touzellier before the Gard Assize Court.
The attorney general, Bertrand Baboulenne will represent the prosecution before the Gard Assize Court which will be chaired by magistrate Christian Pasta. Verdict on
