Garmin has announced beta software version 12.21 for its Fenix 8, Fenix E and Enduro 3 smartwatches.

Here's what we know

The update, which is now available to beta testers, contains important fixes, including an issue that could cause devices to crash when searching for nearby objects in Explore Nearby mode.

Garmin has temporarily removed the new Reference Point navigation app that was added in the previous 12.19 update. This app, which helps you navigate terrain using a compass and line of sight to your destination, has been removed. This removal is due to issues with the Use Map feature, which was causing the clock to crash.

It is not yet known when this option will be reinstated. The update is already available to registered beta testers and will be rolled out to all users in the near future.
