Ms. Ballouz is accused of the premeditated murders of her children aged 2 and 5 and the unpremeditated murder of her partner. She is also accused of causing an arson at the family condo to cover up her crime.
The investigator from the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL), Jean-Philippe Girard, presented a series of videos from surveillance cameras in indoor parking lots and the residential tower.
In particular, we can see the comings and goings of the accused, sometimes alone or with her family.
At one point, we see her staring at a surveillance camera for about ten seconds before winking, still at the camera. This scene took place before the alleged murders.
In other videos captured on the evening of the tragedy, we can see that the accused changed her clothes. She is seen once again looking at the camera and shaking her head “no”.
In the coming days, a toxicologist, a biologist and a pathologist will take the stand.
The jury trial is expected to last six weeks. It will be suspended from December 24, 2024 to January 6, 2025 during judicial holidays.
