The Algarve’s latest attraction…. uninterrupted views of the solar panels!

The Algarve not only boasts stretches of golden, sunny beaches, but also lush countryside where residents and tourists can cool off with picnics and offer children the chance to see life as it really is. Among its latest attraction…. uninterrupted views of the solar panels!

“There’s a problem with all the new ideas and money-saving projects,” APAA President Jenny Clarke shielded her eyes from the fall sun. “The problem with solar panels is that they have a devastating effect on wildlife and landscapes in general. »

The Algarve Animal Welfare Association is interested not only in domestic animals, wild cats, but also in the native wildlife that the Algarve supports.

“Animals and birds have wonderful ways of rejuvenating their numbers naturally, but with the deliberate uprooting of the countryside, they suddenly find themselves with a great problem finding other places to hunt for food and survival. » Money is at the root of the problem.

“People have land, they sell it, and they must prosper, they also need to live! Cheaper electricity is a major draw for all of us. But the price might be higher than we all thought. There are many questions that need to be answered in the solar energy debate. “But one thing we know is that lynx, deer, foxes, wild boars, hares, hedgehogs, beautiful birds… will be first on the cost list. » Sad. »

The United States has published articles on the “pros and cons” of solar energy, with alarming results. Not everything is good. Extra sunglasses for summer? Visit the “beautiful natural and hilly solar panel paradise”. A new Silicon Valley perhaps with a difference: visit it by electric safari jeep or off-road, of course!
