The funeral of singer Liam Payne was celebrated this Wednesday in Amersham, United Kingdom.
His former boy band partners One Direction were alongside his parents and 7-year-old son Bear.
Liam Payne died on October 16 after falling from his hotel room balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
They came to pay their last respects. Relatives of Liam Payne and his former partners from the boy band One Direction gathered on Wednesday November 20 in Amersham, west of London, for the funeral of the singer who died in October at the age of 31. Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson arrived in the middle of the day for the ceremony organized at St Mary's Church in this Buckinghamshire town, whose entrance was decorated with flowers and candles.
A few minutes later, the singer's coffin arrived in a white carriage decorated with colorful flower wreaths, followed by his parents. Liam Payne's former partner, Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Tweedy, their 7-year-old son Bear, and his last girlfriend, American influencer Kate Cassidy, were also present at the small funeral.
He fought against his addictions
A dozen fans, kept apart behind a cordon, also came to pay a final tribute to the One Direction singer. The death of Liam Payne, who fell from the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 16, shocked the group's fans around the world. Argentine prosecutors have revealed that Liam Payne had consumed alcohol, cocaine and antidepressants before his death. Three people were charged with supplying him with drugs. He died of “multiple traumas” and a “internal and external bleeding”.

One Direction, who was one of the most lucrative boy bands in the world, released their fifth and final studio album in 2016, Made in the A.M. The same year, the group announced a break, never formalized as a separation. The members of the boy band then began solo careers with varying degrees of success. Liam Payne released his first album, LP1in 2019. Last year, he announced that he was working on a second album and released a new single in March 2024.
