Yuksel, driver of the vehicle hit by Pierre Palmade, is at the helm. He gets around with the help of crutches, has to sit, has his arm in a sling. He explains that he doesn’t have “too many” memories of the accident and has a limp in his right leg.
He was assigned 171 days of ITT, underwent six operations, wears a hip prosthesis and plates in one leg.
“Before I earned money, I had friends. I tried to enjoy the family,” explains the driver of the vehicle of Turkish origin. “Today I can no longer do that kind of thing. I don’t know if I can regain my previous health, my previous life is like a dream,” explains the man who worked in construction before the accident.
On the stand, he also speaks about the state of health of his son Devrim, who was with him in the car on the evening of the tragedy, and who repeated his CE1 due to his difficulty concentrating linked to the accident. “He has had multiple operations, he has scars all over his head and is in constant pain,” explains his dad. “I trust justice,” he concludes.
