This novel tells the story of a man who, marked by childhood trauma, learns to reconnect with the sea. This process of reconciliation disrupts the life of a small Breton coastal community, which has long confused silence with oblivion. ..
Before devoting himself fully to writing, Arnaud de La Grange led a diversified career: naval officer, then project manager at the General Secretariat of National Defense, he subsequently became a journalist in the foreign service of Le Figaro.
He has covered several international conflicts, notably in Congo, Liberia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Burma, and served as correspondent in China. Currently he is a correspondent in London.
He has also written several geopolitical essays and travel stories, including Rebel Worlds, The Bastard Wars, Wakes of Africa, and Iraq Year Zero. La Promesse du broad is his third novel, after Les Vents Noirs and Le Huitième Soir, which were also recognized with literary prizes.
