A fatal face-off between a motorist and a scooter cost the life of a teenager. Tuesday, November 19, around 6:15 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was riding his scooter when it violently hit a car. The scene took place on the road from Richerenches to Visan, on Departmental 20, in Vaucluse.
Immediately alerted, the fire brigade sent a dozen of its agents to the scene to try to resuscitate the boy. In vain.
After 40 minutes of effort, the young man was declared dead by the SMUR (Mobile Emergency and Resuscitation Structure) doctor. A helicopter was dispatched to the site, awaiting possible transport to the hospital which ultimately did not take place.
The circumstances of the accident are still unknown. An investigation is underway to identify them.
