On Saturday night, Foo Fighters performed at London Stadium for the second night in a row as part of their Everything or Nothing at All tour. Twenty miles away, on the other side of town, Taylor Swift took to the stage at Wembley Stadium for the second of three consecutive performances on her Eras tour. There’s not much in common between these two bands, either in terms of their music or the audiences who attend their shows, but Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has sketched a comparison.
« I’m telling you, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift.”, Grohl said on stage Saturday, after the audience began booing in response to his remark that the singer was also performing in the city that evening. “ We like to call our tour the “Errors Tour”. We have quite a few eras, and more than a few errors too. Only a few. That’s because we really play live. What ? I say it like that. You like raw and lively rock’n’roll music, don’t you? On her third night at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, Swift appeared to respond indirectly to the rock legend’s comments: ” Every single member of my band, every single member of our team, my band that’s going to be playing live for you for 3 and a half hours tonight, they deserve this so much. The same goes for each of my colleagues. And you gave it to us so generously, we will never forget it. »
