OMNISPORTS: An Olympic day in Pont-de-Metz this Friday

This Friday, June 28, the town of Pont-de-Metz is organizing an Olympic day during which numerous sporting activities are on the program.

On Friday June 28 at 4:30 p.m., the city of Pont-de-Metz is organizing an Olympic day. On the program, sport, disabled sports, badminton, breakdance and other disciplines. This event will take place near the Pierre and Marie Curie school group. Demonstrations and introductions to Olympic and Paralympic disciplines will take place.

This day is set up with the aim of “share the values ​​of Olympism” , explain Loic Bulant, mayor of Pont-de-Metz, and to highlight the biggest international event of the year. Many athletes will be present like the ex-judokate Lucie Louette or the two players from Amiens SC Régis Gurtner et Sébastien Corchia. There will also be medalists at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, with the weightlifter Daniel Senet, silver medalist in Montreal in 1976, or Erika Sauzeau, bronze medalist at the Tokyo Games (2020) in para-avriron and Annemieke Fokke, captain of the Torch relay and bronze medalist at the Seoul Games (1988) , with the Netherlands in field hockey. We also note the presence of Philippe Ermenault, gold and silver medalist in track cycling in 1996, and his son, Corentin Ermenault.

The opening ceremony will kick off the event with the help of children from the Pont-de-Metz school, and around 9 p.m. there will be a mini color run. In addition to these activities, it will be possible to eat on site with three Food-Trucks present on the site. This day will be accompanied by a dance evening led by DJ Manu Music. And why wouldn’t you be the new Pont-de-Metz Olympic champion?
