This Tuesday, November 19 marks the thousandth day of the war in Ukraine. For women, it's 1,000 days waiting for their husbands to return. They were taken prisoner by the Russians in the early hours of the conflict. “Our lives have stopped without our loved ones. They are on hold”says one of them.
After 1,000 days of war, how many deaths? 20,000 on the Ukrainian side, according to some estimates. A population frightened by this terrible toll: “When I think of them, of this tragedy, of the price paid, I wonder if we should continue or stop everything”said a man. No hope of peace on this thousandth day.
