A family was thrown onto the street last night, because their house on rue de La Liberté in the Vieilles-Forges district of Trois-Rivières was completely razed by flames.
The fire broke out shortly after 1 a.m. A mother and her two children were there.
No one was injured. They were able to get out in time.
The fire was of such magnitude that it spread to the neighboring house.
The investigation was transferred to the Trois-Rivières police because firefighters had reason to believe that the cause of the fire was not accidental.
The identity of the former owner of the house, until last July, raises questions.
According to our information, it is René Boisvert.
The man has several criminal records and is believed to be linked to organized crime. René Boisvert is identified by several sources as gravitating around the Hells Angels organization.
Another suspicious fire
Trois-Rivières police are also investigating another fire that could be criminal that also occurred last night on Parent Boulevard.
Around 2 a.m., a building under construction was engulfed in flames.
When the firefighters arrived, there was already widespread conflagration.
At this time, it is not known whether there is a link between the two fires.
