Dramatic twist in Group H of qualifying for CAN 2025: Guinea will not be part of the party. Traveling to Dar es Salaam, Syli National lost to Tanzania (1-0), a result which sealed its elimination.
The only goal of the match, scored by Simon Msuva in the 61st minute, was enough to offer Taifa Stars their ticket to the final phase. With this success, Tanzania finished second in the group with 10 points, behind the Democratic Republic of Congo, which dominated the debates with 12 points. Guinea, although ambitious at the start of qualifying, failed in third place with 9 points, an insufficient result to hope for a place among the qualifiers.

This elimination marks a resounding disappointment for Guinean football, which was counting on its talented generation to shine in Morocco. Syli National thus joins Ghana among the major nations absent from this CAN. For its part, Tanzania, often in the shadow of African leaders, confirms its rise and asserts itself as a serious outsider. By qualifying in a tough group, the Taifa Stars send a strong message: CAN 2025 could well hold other surprises.
