After the calm and mild weather which prevailed at the beginning of the month, a deterioration has been noted in recent days. In addition to bad weather, a clear drop in mercury has been recorded across the entire territory.
This Tuesday, November 19, Météo France placed a good number of departments on yellow level vigilance for various risks. It is the rain-flood alert which covers the most departments. In all, nearly forty of them are concerned, such as the Ardennes, Aube, Calvados, Cher, Corrèze, Côte-d'Or, Creuse, Doubs, Indre, Indre -et-Loire, Jura, Loir-et-Cher.
This is also the case for Loiret, Manche, Marne, Haute-Marne, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse, Moselle, Nièvre, Nord, Pas-de-Calais, Haute- Saône, Saône-et-Loire, Paris, Seine-Maritime, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Somme, Vosges, Yonne, Territoire de Belfort, Essonne, Hauts-de- Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne and Val-d’Oise.
In addition to the rain-flood alert, the aforementioned departments are also placed on yellow alert for the risk of strong winds. On the Channel side and the Atlantic coast, an alert for the risk of waves-submersion is in effect. Finally, in Pas-de-Calais, Seine-Maritime and Eure, a flood alert is also issued by Météo France.
This Tuesday morning, rainy weather is in place over most of France. Only the Mediterranean coast is spared. As for temperatures, it is 4 degrees in Savoie, 6 degrees in Aurillac, 8 degrees in Gap and Montélimar, 9 degrees in Lyon, 10 degrees in Metz and Strasbourg, 11 degrees in Lille, Auxerre and Limoges, 12 degrees in Reims, Bordeaux and Amiens, 13 degrees in Paris, Brest and Marseille and up to 15 degrees in Biarritz. During the afternoon, showers will remain in place in most regions. Only the Mediterranean coast and Corsica will be dry.
Unsettled weather throughout the day
As for the wind gusts, it is in the northwest quarter that they will be the most powerful. In Île-de-France, they will be able to exceed 70 km/h. Regarding temperatures, between 6 and 19 degrees are forecast, with minimums expected in Savoie and maximums in Perpignan. At the end of the day, the weather will remain gloomy. In the center, rainfall may even intensify. To the south-east, showers could be accompanied by violent thunderstorms.
