The Garmin Forerunner 165, Forerunner 265 and Forerunner 965 are receiving a new beta update: version 21.18. This software arrived a few weeks after its predecessor, version 21.16 which provided fixes to issues related to sleep tracking and heart rate data.
The 21.18 beta changelog indicates that Garmin Coach strength training plans, also known as Garmin Strength Coach, have finally been added to these wearables. This feature was launched earlier this year and for the Venu 3 and vivoactive 5 smartwatches. The software also fixes an issue experienced by triathletes, where copies of this profile were displayed as running profiles. A bug that required users to go back to the previous page from the weather report has been fixed. Additionally, an issue with resuming from sleep mode after being exited manually has been resolved.
Garmin has confirmed that beta version 21.18 is a Release Candidate, indicating its intention to roll out a stable version of this software to all users in the near future. In the same post on the Garmin Forum, a company representative said that at least 50% of users of the Forerunner 165, Forerunner 265 and Forerunner 965 smartwatches who are enrolled in the beta program can now download the update. You can trigger the installation process from the system settings, under Software Update.
