American company Evidation, which specializes in measuring health data, is opening its platform to migraines, reports online media Fierce Biotech. You can contribute to scientific research by reporting your symptoms, answering surveys and tracking your daily activities.

Thanks to the MigraineSmart program integrated into the Evidation application, the latter will be able to determine the correlation between all these elements. In a statement, Meg Dryer, general manager of consumer activities, explains: “Our goal is to generate new models of these diseases that will contribute to a deeper and real-world understanding of [la] disease.”

According to Evidation, this health problem affects 40 million people in the United States alone, mostly women. A preliminary study by MigraineSmart reveals that out of 21,700 people surveyed, 41% of them did not consult a doctor for their migraines during the previous year.

If you suffer from recurring migraines, you know that it is sometimes difficult to find the trigger, especially since it can be a combination of factors. Food, stress, atmospheric pressure, visual stimulus, difficult to sort. Collecting all this data should be as useful to patients as it is to researchers.

Give and take

“MigraineSmart helps generate high-quality data worthy of scientific research, as well as information about migraines that is practical for patients and relevant to the research team,” confirms Abigail Levine, director of product strategy.

In addition to surveys and other questionnaires, patients will also be able to provide health data from their bracelets or connected watches, in order to have the most complete vision possible of the ailments…
