Time zones in the United States differ radically from those in Europe. In Western Europe, the vast majority of countries have a nine-hour time difference from Las Vegas, with the exception of Portugal, the United Kingdom and Ireland, where the time difference is “only” eight hours.
In recent years, F1 has discovered, or rather rediscovered, a new market, that of the United States. In fact, no less than three races are organized in the USA, in order to attract American spectators, from the East Coast to the West Coast. However, we should not rush the European audience who are used to watching the Grands Prix at 2 p.m. Since the event is taking place in Las Vegas, it was obvious that the race would have to be held at night.

However, holding a Grand Prix in Nevada, especially on a Sunday evening, would have posed a problem for international schedules, particularly in Europe, where viewers would already be at work or preparing for it. This is why the race is scheduled for Saturday evening, at 10 p.m. local time, as in the previous season. This choice makes it possible to match the end of the night in Las Vegas with Sunday morning in Europe. Rest assured, the start of the Grand Prix will be given this Sunday, at 7 a.m. (French time).
Last season, the Las Vegas Grand Prix began in controversy, the fault of poorly secured manhole covers. However, seeing F1 racing on the famous Las Vegas Strip had its effect. The race was won by Max Verstappen at the wheel of his formidable Red Bull RB19. He was accompanied on the podium by Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) as well as Sergio Pérez (Red Bull). This Grand Prix, despite a chaotic start, marked the history of F1 with its unique setting, combining glamour, high-level sport and a spectacular nighttime format.
This year, Las Vegas could be the host land for Max Verstappen's fourth coronation, promising celebrations on a par with Sin City.
