The police custody of the man who took hostage, Saturday November 16, 2024, four employees of a pizzeria in Issy-les-Moulineaux, was lifted for medical incompatibility.
The custody of the man suspected of having taken four employees of a pizzeria in Issy-les-Moulineaux (Hauts-de-Seine) hostage on Saturday was lifted on Sunday evening. The suspect, a drug addict, was in fact hospitalized under duress, our colleagues from BFM TV learned.
Forced by “lack of cocaine”, employees released… What we know about the hostage taking in a pizzeria near Paris
On Saturday, the forty-year-old, son of the manager of the “L'Olivier” pizzeria, locked himself in the restaurant armed with a knife with four employees for almost 3 hours. He would have previously contacted his mother to tell her that he was “in need of cocaine”. It was she who then contacted the police, fearing the worst.
Unknown to the justice system, the forty-year-old is on the other hand very unfavorably known to the police “for cases of drugs, contempt, violence and rebellion”, according to several police sources cited by our colleagues.
