An affair which aroused the emotion of an entire country. A year ago to the day, Thomas Perotto, 16, was killed with a knife to the heart and throat in Crépol in the Drôme. The teenager was attacked during a winter ball in the festival committee. At the time of the events, that is to say on the night of November 18 to 19, 2023, the victim was accompanied by one of his older brothers and a few friends.
At the time, fourteen people, accused of having provoked a brawl leading to Thomas' death, were arrested. Despite the placement in pre-trial detention of eight of them in connection with this same case, the main suspect who carried out the fatal stabbing has still not been identified despite hundreds of hearings which have been carried out so far. there.
For their part, the investigating judges ensure that the investigation is still ongoing in order to know the identity of the main suspect. During a meeting with several victims and families of victims, Tuesday, November 12, they explained the means mobilized to reveal the truth. For them, justice is taking its course and “significant” resources are still mobilized, according to France Bleu Ardèche.
A version that Me Alexandre Farelly, lawyer for Thomas' family, refuted any “advancement” in the case. “There has been no progress in this direction, this meeting has not allowed the family to move forward in understanding what happened,” he told our colleagues.
“We know it's a long time, we were told it was still going to be a long time, we accept it at the price of rigor (…) Imagine your worst nightmare, imagine that you never wake up, you have the beginnings of response,” he added.
