Vladimir Guerrero Jr. may have been talked about for the right reasons against the Red Sox in Boston on Monday, but the Toronto Blue Jays still lost 7 to 6.

Indeed, the son of the former Montreal Expos player hit a 471-foot home run to add three points to his team on the scoreboard. This bomb was all the more important since the Jays only led by one point when the 25-year-old decided to take matters into his own hands.

Only Shohei Ohtani (476 feet), Aaron Judge and Mike Trout (473 feet) have hit longer home runs than Guerrero Jr. this season.

Note also the good performance of starter Chris Bassitt, who allowed only two runs in seven innings pitched. But it was when the relievers came into play that the local favorites regained momentum.

In the eighth inning, David Hamilton first reduced the score to 6 to 4 thanks to his fifth home run of the campaign. Romy Gonzalez, hitting a single, allowed his team to level the chances.

It was ultimately a single from Jarren Duran that allowed the Red Sox to win.

Spencer Horwitz and Justin Turner also produced a point each for the visitors.

Thus, this defeat is the seventh in a row for the Blue Jays. John Schneider’s men will be back in action against the Red Sox on Tuesday.
