Biathlon: double in the Norwegian opening races for Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold
This Sunday at midday, the women's mass-start of the opening Norwegian biathlon races in Sjusjøen (Norway) was on the program in Innlandet County. For this first direct confrontation game of the winter, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold was the big favorite.
In the absence of the Slovak Anastasia Kuzmina and mainly against her compatriots, last season's world number 3 first offered a great demonstration in the first half of the race. Perfect at shooting, she approached the first standing alone in the lead. A fault on this first salvo, but above all two on the last of the race complicated his affairs.
Of a victory that promised to be easy, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (17/20) finally had to work on the last lap. First to make up for the few seconds of delay on Maren Kirkeeide (19/20) at the exit of the shooting range, then to try to overtake her in the big bump of the course. What she didn't realize.
Dorothea Wierer launches her winter
It is therefore in the sprint, first place was decided and, based on experience, the Norwegian narrowly managed to gain the upper hand over her younger sisterlocked at the entrance to the final straight. On the third step of the podium, we found an excellent Dorothea Wierer (18/20) at 31 sec 2.
Karoline Knotten (17/20), Karoline Erdal (16/20), Joanna Jakila (16/20), Kamila You (15/20), the surprising Mari Torsteinsrud (18/20) with his bib 54, Siri Skar (17/20) et Anne Bunemann De Besche (19/20) completed the top 10. Difficult performances, on the other hand, for June Arnekleiv (15/20), twelfth, Ida Lien (15/20), fifteenth, Emilie Kalkenberg (13/20), sixteenth, or Marit Ishol Skogan (16/20), nineteenth.
Note, finally, the Belgian's eighteenth place Maya Cloetens (16/20), in the fight for the top 10 until the last shot, and the sixtieth of Franc-Comtoise Julie Baverel (15/20).
