The Trofee X2O de Hamme, an unmissable cyclo-cross event, promises a competitive race, for both women and men. A race that will be followed on RTL Club and RTL Play
> Follow the races on RTL Play from 1:45 p.m.
The X2O Trofee continues this Sunday, with the Hamme event. The two races, men’s and women’s, will be followed on RTL Club and RTL Play from 1:45 p.m. But who are the favorites for this 2024 edition? We take stock.
A Dutch duel among women?
Without Fem van Empel, who favored a big training program after her title of European champion, the competition looks open. The Dutch Lucinda Brand and Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado emerge as favorites.
Behind this duo, other runners are aiming for the podium. Among them, Sara Casasola and Marion Norbert-Riberolle from the Crelan-Corendon team. Zoe Bäckstedt, young British talent from the Canyon // SRAM team, continues to impress and could play spoilsport. The start of the women’s race will be at 1:45 p.m.
Thibau Nys on a mission
On the men’s side, the field is similar to that of Merksplas. Thibau Nys, recently crowned European champion, will be keen to shine at home. Supported by his Baloise Trek Lions teammates Lars van der Haar and Pim Ronhaar, Nys is clearly aiming for victory.
The Pauwels Sauzen-Bingoal team is banking on its experienced duo, Eli Iserbyt, always a formidable competitor. Michael Vanthourenhout, strong on his legs and in search of victory. Other riders also worth mentioning as credible contenders, such as Crelan-Corendon’s Laurens Sweeck, Joran Wyseure, Niels Vandeputte and Felipe Orts.
The start of the men’s race will be at around 3 p.m.
