A fire ravaged a detached house in rue Henri-Stendhal in Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne), Saturday November 16, 2024 in the evening. The alert was given to the departmental fire and rescue operational center (Codis) shortly after 8:15 p.m.

Two hoses and sixteen firefighters mobilized

The sappers deploy significant resources. In total, up to sixteen personnel were dispatched to try to fight the flames. But by the time they arrived, the fire had already spread well. Five devices are deployed, including two fire hoses. Unfortunately, it is already too late to hope to save anything.

The only small bright spot in this spectacle of desolation is that the garage did not catch fire. But unfortunately the rest of the building has to be demolished. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

The national police also went to the scene to secure the intervention of the firefighters. They also opened an investigation to try to unravel the circumstances of the fire. But according to the first findings made yesterday evening by the firefighters, the hypothesis of a short circuit in a radiator is probable. However, the scenario remains to be verified and considered with the usual caution.
