This is a response to recent statements by the former presidential candidate, who said he was ready to become Prime Minister, if offered. An option far from being unanimously unanimous on the left.

A withdrawal from the Greens if the RN can win

The national secretary of the Ecologists also announced to AFP that the party’s candidates in the early legislative elections will withdraw in the second round in favor of a candidate “who respects the values ​​of the Republic” in the event of a possible victory for the Rally. national.

“Each time an environmentalist candidate, member of the Popular Front, comes in third position, he will withdraw in favor of the candidate who respects the values ​​of the Republic to beat the extreme right,” she declared, specifying henceforth expect “the same clarity from all the political forces that call themselves republican”.

The Ecologists are the first left-wing party to give instructions to withdraw in the event of a risk of victory for the RN in the second round of the legislative elections.

“I do not imagine that the position of other members of the New Popular Front could be different, but I let the different party leaders communicate at their own pace,” indicates Marine Tondelier.

“I see among the majority of people playing with fire and I am appalled, it is inconsistent and History will remember it,” declares the woman who is also the opposition municipal councilor in Hénin- Beaumont, stronghold of Marine Le Pen.

“Now that we have clarified things about Jean-Luc Mélenchon, I imagine that our adversaries will clarify things about the Republican withdrawal,” she adds.
