An investigation was opened by the gendarmerie for attempted murder, and a man, believed to be the author of the stabbing, was arrested and brought to justice.

On the night of Thursday June 20 to Friday June 21, 2024, around 3 a.m., a man was injured with a knife during a fight between two men. As reported by our colleagues from The Free Channelthe altercation took place in the Val-de-Vire district in Vire Normandy (Calvados), avenue Georges-Pompidou.

The police intervened on the spot and opened an investigation into attempted murder. The two men, aged 39 and 44, were drunk, according to the initial conclusions of the investigation.
A man arrested and brought to justice
A man, believed to be the perpetrator of the stabbing, was arrested and brought before the courts, without the outcome of his arrest being known at this time. Vire Normandy firefighters intervened on the spot and transported the injured person to the hospital, specifying that his life was not in danger.
