The Grandvellais, residents of Regional 1, were finally beaten by their opponents of the day, the Dijonnais, 4th in their National championship. It is therefore with a 4 – 2 that the adventure in the Coupe de France ends for the club from Nord Franche-Comté. Beyond the disappointment, the 1,000 supporters present at the Léon Gelot stadium this November 16, 2024 especially remember the bravery of their players.
Hold, hold and then break
It did not take long for the DFCO players to acclimatize to the synthetic pitch of FC Grandvillars and the Comtoise mist: Djae opened the scoring in the 9th minute of play. Logical score, given the division differences (three championships separate the teams), but Grandvillars managed to reduce the gap just before half-time with Evsan's top corner (43rd minute). One everywhere, ball in the center for the return to the field after half-time. Surprise in the 54th minute with a new goal from Grandvillars thanks to Di Vora's strike. The northern Franche-Comté are breathing, perhaps too much because Icanga equalizes for Dijon in the 58th minute, and doubles in the 63rd. Hard blow for the amateurs, who let themselves be caught a fourth time: Hamada scored the fourth and final Dijon goal in the 81st minute of play. The Dijonnais therefore won 4 to 2, in front of the thousand spectators at Grandvillars.
