June 17, 2023 could have been fatal for David Deville, victim of cardiac arrest, who spent the following six days in a coma. This Sunday, November 17, he will lead his 9th division team for the 7th round of the Coupe de France.
On June 17, 2023, David Deville is inert. For seven minutes. Swept away by a heart attack just before a gala match that he was preparing to play with his club Mazingarbe (Pas-de-Calais), against former RC Lens. A few months later, back on his feet and now a coach, he is about to play a Coupe de France match (7th round) with his new team, RC Labourse.

What saved his life? The vivacity of a kid who, in an emergency, went to look for his father, a former volunteer firefighter sitting in the stands. The latter gave him a cardiac massage and David Deville’s heart started again after seven minutes. “Seven minutes during which I was dead,” admits this 51-year-old athlete who maintains a very healthy lifestyle. Despite his return to himself, he remains far from being saved, and finds himself plunged into a coma for six days.
From now on, David Deville wants to move forward, while paying attention to his health. This Sunday, his District team will try to achieve the feat against Bobigny, resident of N2.
