– An offer from UFC-Que Choisir promises savings on gas bills.

Determined to “relieve the purchasing power of the French, while gas prices have increased sharply in recent months”, UFC-Que Choisir has launched a call for tenders with national gas suppliers to achieve a group purchase. The organization has thus joined forces with Alterna Energie, with the promise of allowing subscribers to this offer to realize “between 17 and 22%” savings on gas consumption compared to the average market price. Concretely, the UFC-Que Choisir offers a tariff of €0.086/kWh, compared to an average price of €0.1093/kWh in November 2024.

“To give an overview of the savings achievable, we based our calculations on a household that consumes 20,000 kWh per year,” explains Cédric Musso, director of political action at UFC-Que Choisir, interviewed by La Dépêche du Midi. A household with such consumption could expect around 250 euros in savings “compared to the best offer on the market”. Furthermore, UFC-Que Choisir promises that the price will remain fixed for two years, excluding legislative and regulatory changes (notably taxes).

A new offer in the event of a drop in gas prices

Conversely, if the price of gas decline over the next 24 months (the price has decreased by 0.95% in November, even if forecasts announce a return to the increase), “the supplier must provide subscribers with a new attractive offer”assures Cédric Musso. Contract renewal is automatic from one year to the next. The customer can also cancel at any time, free of charge.
