A 28-year-old paraglider was found dead on Friday November 15 in the Mont-Blanc massif in Haute-Savoie, indicates the Chamonix High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon (PGHM). The young man had taken off at the end of the morning from the Aiguille Verte, culminating at 4,122 meters above sea level.
He would have met a “problem during takeoff”according to the PGHM and would have crashed below, in the Nant blanc sector. Emergency services rushed to the scene aboard the Civil Security helicopter, Dragon 74. The doctor could only note the death of the young man. An investigation was opened by the PGHM to shed light on the precise circumstances of the accident.
